Mental health first aid training (standard)
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training teaches you how to recognise and respond to signs of mental illness and mental health crisis. It’s like first aid, but for mental health, and once successfully completed, you’ll become an accredited Mental Health First Aider.
This course is delivered over 2 days (6 hours per day) in a face to face environment.
All Mental Health First Aid courses are based on guidelines that are informed by people with lived experience, their caregivers, and mental health professionals and cover a range of situations including:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Psychosis
- Substance use problems
- Suicidal thoughts and behaviours
- Panic attacks
- Non-suicidal self-injury
- Traumatic events

About Me
My name is Tamara Meek, but most people call me Tam.
Over my 20+ year professional career, I’ve witnessed firsthand the impact toxic work environments can have on individuals, families, and communities. Poor workplace culture often leads to mental health struggles, leaving lasting scars and highlighting the need for change.
Through experiences like walking the Kokoda Track and living in Thailand for 3 months training in Muay Thai, I’ve faced challenges that pushed me to my limits. These experiences taught me the power of perseverance and mental toughness. Resilience isn’t about avoiding struggle, it’s about learning to recognise, navigate and continue to grow from it.
This mindset is at the core of my work, and I’m passionate about helping others build their own resilience.
